- Why is this happening to me?
- Why is it happening only to me?
- Why? But why?
We often feel like the only person who suffers on earth is us. The emotional rollercoaster starts up! And all the positive energy goes down.
I always wonder why there are so many ups and downs in energy.
Everything seems to be the same. Same as before, but the way we look and our mindset changes.
When you are not practicing gratitude mindfully,
You feel like you are not doing enough!
You feel like you are not worthy!
But remember, it’s not true. It is just a stream of thoughts flowing based on the situation.
When your mind keeps on dumping with negative emotions.
- Be aware that the emotions you go through are temporary.
- Start noticing how you feel
- Don’t overthink the reason you feel that way
- Switch over the environment more positively and happily.
Follow any of the 9 ways to be more grateful and happy towards life.
1. Expressing gratitude to others
Yes, we do say thank you for any help or favor they do. But sometimes even their presence is good for us.
Express how important they are in our lives with them. This makes them feel happy. It is again a way of confirming that we have humans behind us.
Even when you see a stranger smile. It gives an excellent feel.
Looking at someone with a broad smile and greeting them with wishes, my heart feels human in this systematic world.
2. Cultivating forgiveness
Do you have the guts to agree that you are unwilling to forgive yourself or others?
If you are not forgiving yourself, then you might struck in the past, wailing.
What’s the one thing that you want to remove in your life?
Write it completely and forgive whoever the mistake is. The act of forgiveness helps you move on positively and love yourself more.
3. Practicing Active Listening
Same as practicing mindfulness, start practicing listening too. This makes the other person feel validated and acknowledged for their perspectives.
Spend time with your loved ones, listening to them. Offer genuine gratitude for the wisdom gained from listening.
4. Have a gratitude jar
Knowing is good, but acting is GREAT!
When I got to know about the gratitude jar. I got excited. Tiny act of low love surprise bundle.
In a relationship, this works great! Exchanging gratitude jars is an excellent way of expressing love. An additional benefit is we will be getting appreciation from our loved ones.
5. Practicing Mindful gratitude
As I have said before, we lack awareness of what we are feeling. Jumping between tasks and mindlessly scrolling can make us feel busy and unmotivated. We should try to change our feelings.
Have a tattoo or ring in your hand. And whenever you see it, start a mindful practice or say thank you for something.
Whenever you check your phone, say something that you are grateful for.
I am a strong believer in the “Law of attraction” and when I see 11:11 or any 01:01-12:12 I just start saying one thing that I am grateful for.
This brings me back to feeling good often. Every minute is precious and never be taken back.

6. Finding gratitude in challenges
The good part of practicing gratitude is we have to see good things in everything
The water is not half-empty, it is half-full.
Many days when we are fully drained out. That one good news that happens unexpectedly makes the day.
Even when you can’t find the one nice thing that happened to you. Be grateful that you are alive. You breathe. You exist in this world. Some love you for what you are.
7. Keep a Gratitude Journal
It might sound simple. Just keep a Journal. But doing it regularly is a big thing!!
Write 3 things you are grateful for in the morning or before bed.
It can be the food you eat, your body, or any person you meet. Anything that you bring to paper is totally meaningful to have a fulfilled life.

8. Hit your Affirmation Playlist
Everything need not be done consciously. Subconsciously, when we start feeding good things into our minds. We feel great about ourselves.
Start listening to self-love affirmation in the morning. Create your affirmation playlist and play it often.
This automatically tunes your brain to show more gratitude towards your life.
9. Surround yourself with positive influencers
The day when you start surrounding yourself with positive people. You will feel a change within yourself. The way you look at life changes. Some practices that you can do subconsciously create a big impact.
This can help you change your mindset and think more positively without much effort.
But all you can have to notice is the people you are spending time with.
Practical ways to incorporate a gratitude practice
Until it becomes a habit, you should hack your mind to practice gratitude.
- Have a small gratitude notebook.
- Write down something and stick it where you spend more time
