What is self-care?
Bringing our awareness to you.
Caring for yourself makes you look better and feel better. It’s not always just looks.
How you care for yourself mentally and emotionally is also important.
Actual self-care doesn’t need to be luxurious or do the popular thing.
It must be truly your own customized “self-care”.
But you can always refer to updating your self-care night routine that works for your current version well.
Think about the exact state you are in. And ask yourself these Questions.
- How am I gonna end this day with more satisfaction and fulfillment?
- How am I to grow myself?
- And in which part I needed care?
Why is self-care important?
Self-care is a part of self-growth.
Did you notice that the whole day you work and feel exhausted?
We all work to be in a better position and more importantly to live a happy and healthy life.
But sometimes what happens when you are too focused on work?
You forget that you exist.
Yes, your brain will keep thinking about the next, next things to do. One day you will feel lost.
- When you treat yourself better only = You can treat others better.
- Thinking spending time doing self-care is not worth = ignoring yourself.
- Small self-care practices give you more = understanding of your body and mind.

Tricks and tips to start your self-care night routine.
Set your mind up: And affirm that you need your self-care night routine! No matter how your day or your tight schedule is. You must afford at least 1/2 hour before bed.
Plan the day: Write 3 frogs to eat (the most imp thing) for tomorrow.
- Sleep is your priority: No matter how your day is, good sleep can heal you.
- Block time for a self-care routine: Like the morning routine, block at least half-hour to one hour for an excellent night self-care routine.

9 self-care night routines that you can start or add up to your existing list.
1. Shut down everything
Stay away from blue light!
Like starting a thing, ending the thing is also difficult even if you are deep into it. You have to know when you have to end. So,
- Set “automatic turn off” on your mobile. Use a traditional alarm.
- Set a network jammer and put all your internet off at 9 am.
Closing everything and relaxing is a cue to start your night routine.
Gadgets free sleep ( 3 hacks that work)
3 hacks that help me sleep without scrolling up my mobile.
Most of the time nowadays is spent with the screen. It might be work or entertainment. Screen usage is non-negotiable sometimes. It’s better to avoid screen time at night. (for a healthy self-care night routine)
- Cucumber slices
- Self-help books
- Use an eye mask
Before doing these simple hacks. I struggled a lot to quit scrolling during bedtime. Then I understood that to completely avoid that habit I have to adapt to the good alternatives.
1. Cucumber slices
Cut and keep in your eyes.
So you will feel so needed (for your restless eyes) when you keep it in your eyes and you won’t take it out and watch your screen again.
Even if you find this as work. Do it for your eyes. And accept the fact that your eyes too needed care during your self-care night routine.
2. SELF-HELP BOOKS
So keep an alternative when you don’t find yourself falling asleep. Then read self-help books.
That might impact good thoughts and help with sleep.
3. Use an eye mask
It’s always ready to wear for not distracted sleep.
Make your outside world blind and dive into your dream world.

2. Set your bed for sleep
Set your bed = Good sleep
Like making your bed in the morning. Set your bed for perfect rest for your body.
The bed is for rest. Keep all your work away from the bed. Make it cozy and dim.
Use your bed only for sleep. When I did my work in bed I felt so comfy ( actually I jumped into bed for comfyness).
But that made me less focused on my work and felt to rest my body soon. After a few times, I realized that even though it gives a warm and good feeling staying in bed.
It doesn’t help me to work productively. I thought of enjoying my work with my bed.
I could not enjoy it and it made me tired of work. From that personal experience, I treat my bed only for good rest only: for a quick afternoon nap and deep sleep.
It works for focused productivity and good sleep too.
3. Light up scented candles or play any music
The perfect night ritual.
Did you know that the lavender smell keeps you calm and reduces stress and anxiety?
So as in the morning rituals add these things to the night routine too.
Set a proper place for proper sleep.
Playing a piece of calm music that shuts down all your random thoughts. Relax from your hectic day and stop your continuous thinking.
You’re meant to be relaxed, that’s what the night is.
And giving your mind and body a good rest makes the next day as you plan.
4. Warm bath
Let all your stress and anxiety wash away…
Soaking yourself in your tub or taking a shower helps in better sleep.
Even though you didn’t find the time or it’s not your thing. Then try it on your exhausting day.
Keep some things mandatory-even if you find it deadly tiring.
- Face wash: Quick refresh if you can’t spend time in the bath.
- Brushing: Protect your teeth from gems all night.
- Combing: Comb your hair at least twice a day. Tangle-free hair at night = less hair fall.
5. Pampering
Treat yourself like a baby!
1. Comfy clothes
Changing into comfy clothes. Ditching that bra out is more important. Let your skin feel the air.
Heard of nude sleep? Check that out.
2. Skin-care
- Remove your makeup
- Wash your face
- Moisturize + Night cream ( Vitamin C serum is best for nighttime)
3. Body massage or stretching
When you are physically tired. Then try out self-massaging.
But if you have someone to help with that. Don’t hesitate to ask for it.
Stretching before bed has so many benefits. It keeps you strong and flexible and improves your sleep too ( do it 10 to 30 mins before bed).
4. Foot care
Massage your feet and apply some Aloe Vera gel (make sure to get moisturized).
6. Keep a journal
Write it out – good or bad
We all work throughout the day, nighttime is the perfect to reflect on the day.
No matter how your day goes either planned or unplanned. Good or bad the day has to be ended with journaling.
You will have
- 3 things to be grateful for
- 2 things that make the day fulfilled
- 1 insight
Write it down. After you have written it down you will find that you have accomplished something on that day.
Even Though you didn’t have it, you can take insights from it and improve your day.
Remember, what you do in a day matters a lot!
7. Meditation
You have to shut down your inner self too.
Even though you have shut down everything around you. That is possible only when you start slowing down. Meditation definitely helps with that. Even if you find that more difficult, do it at least for 5 minutes.
Guided meditation for 5 mins. Use some offline devices. Download all our favorite guided meditation, affirmation, and music for work. Whatever, maybe have an offline copy.

Start noticing your breath and bring awareness to your body and mind. Bringing awareness and relaxing yourself is more than enough. To have a calm and peaceful sleep.
8. Hydrate yourself
Both the inner and outer self needs hydration.
Next 6-8 hours you’re gonna have a good rest. So drink a glass of water before going to bed.
These might be so simple that you will not take it under the night self-care routine itself. But it’s like drinking a glass of water. Do it at night too.
Also don’t forget about your outer side. Keep it clean and hydrated. The entire day your skin has faced many specks of dirt.
More than using a number of products in your skincare night routine, take it simple and consistent.
Overdoing might be overwhelming and you kind of stop that habit.

A Quick tip: Make sure your water bottle, skincare essentials, the book you wanna read/ Journal, sleep mask, and scented candle everything nearby your bedside.
This organized and already set environment will help you to do the self-care night routine more effectively.
9. Visualize good things
Get into your dream life.
You will be bombarded with a lot of thoughts during your bedtime.
Everything about this day and tomorrow and many things go to mind.
When you don’t notice things you might be in a negative pattern of thoughts. Then you might sleep with those thoughts.
During deep relaxed sleep your brain waves change to an alpha state. In that state, the subconscious mind believes whatever your thoughts and visualization are. So we need to feed the right thing into it.
Slowly relax your body and imagine the situation you want to be in or the thing you want to get success in.
